POODLE RESCUE POLICIES
WHAT KIND OF POODLES ARE RESCURED
Many of our rescue dogs are lost or abandoned dogs. Sometimes a family needs to move, or just cannot take their dog along,
or a family member dies, and the rest of the family just cannot take another dog into their household.
The average age for our poodles needing adoption is 5 years old (as far as we can tell), but, when we do not know
the past history of the lost pet, or previous family just cannot remember how old their dog is, it is only a guess.
WHAT IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN OUR RESCUE PROGRAM
Often, there are no rescue poodles of any size, nor either sex in our program, though we rescue of 50 poodles a year.
As soon as a poodle comes in, it is spayed/neutered and placed in a new home with someone on our "Adopter Waiting List".
Consequently we request a telephone call from you for a short interview to place you as a potential adopter on our waiting list.
WHAT IS THE VSPC POLICY FOR POODLE ADOPTION
New owners need to know that rescue dogs are ones that no one wants due to some issue or another.
We usually know the issue, and are able to inform the new owner of any problems.
We cannot predict the size, color, age, or sex of a dog that is going to come into our program.
Once we find a poodle that fits a family's needs, we request a fee of $250.00 for adoption.
This amount is placed into our surgical fund because each poodle is spayed/neutered, and critical tooth extraction
emergency surgery, etc., be done before the poodle can go into a new home.
We sign a contract with the new adopting family, that guarantees a successful adoption of the new poodle for the family,
or the poodle is to be returned to VSPC and adoption fees will be fully refunced.
